DH and I just left my post op appointment with my doctor. The pathology results came back on the mass, and came back as "borderline." So, there weren't cancerous cells present but there were abnormal cells.
My doctor is consulting with the gyn/oncologist that assisted in my surgery to see if there is any further action needed at this time but he expects his answer will be to just keep an eye on it throughout the remainder of my pregnancy. We will re-evaluate the plan after he is born, but he expects for it to be the same then - to just keep an eye on it.
They did an ultrasound to make sure there wasn't any excess fluid (some leaked from the draining of the mass before removal) and there wasn't any present. He also wanted to make sure there wasn't any left over ovary or tube present on the left side - there wasn't. Both very good signs.
We got to see our little boy again, and he looks so perfect. The ultrasound tech commented that he looked so much more relaxed and stretched out this time since the mass is no longer pressing on my uterus. I've also lost 10 lbs since last Friday, so it must have had some pretty significant weight to it.
I can't thank you enough for all of your support the past two weeks. Reading all of your kind words made me cry every single time, but also gave me such comfort. Thank you for hearing me when I need to vent and for the thoughts and prayers.

I was surprised by the weight too. The day we went in for surgery I had gained 13 pounds total, so I'm currently up 3 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight now. The shape of my stomach really does show it. The ultrasound tech told me today that she thought I looked 37 weeks the day they found the mass.
I am feeling ok, recovery is going well. I am really sore, and getting in and out of bed is the worst part. DH got angry with me the day after I was discharged because I cleaned out the fridge and took the trash out while he was gone. I paid the price by vomiting and shaking all night. Who knew such simple tasks would be too much?
I am delusional and expected the doctor to tell me life would resume as normal and I could go back to work in 2 weeks or so, but he laughed at me and handed me a work note that says "at least 8 weeks."
I am going to go stir crazy and be bored out of my mind (I usually work 5 12 hour days each week), but it will be worth it for our healthy LO!
